Charlotte Street Bollards

There are these really great metal bollards around Charlotte Street near where I work at Contemporary Applied Arts.  I'm not sure if I've seen any similar elsewhere in London but am more than happy to be put right on that.

What's great about them is both the strength of the form - the ridges and angles make them almost like miniature skyscrapers - but also the way the surfaces differ on different bollards - so there is a wide textural variation within a rigid formal constraint.

Rather predictably I find the really distressed white and black painted ones most attractive, there is something about the strong graphic quality of the black and the white disrupted by the rust coming through that I really like.
